Kale is a gorgeous winter vegetable. Orzo is an Italian Pasta that has the form of rice and which is called Kritharaki in Greece .

Federkohl ist ein grossartiges Wintergemüse. Orzo sind reisförmige italienische Teigwaren welche in Griechenland Kritharaki heissen.

Ingredients

  • 300g Orzo (Kritharaki)
  • 750g cherry tomatoes / Cherrytomaten
  • 300g kale / Federkohl
  • 3 onions / Zwiebeln
  • 3 cloves of garlic / Knoblauchzehen
  • 6 dl bouillon
  • Harissa
  • salt, olive oil / Salz, Olivenöl

Instructions

  1. chop onions finely, press garlic cloves, remove the stalk from the kale (to taste) and then cut the leaves into fine strips. Wash the tomatoes.
  2. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in an ovenproof  pan, fry the onions, add the garlic and fry briefly.
  3. reduce the temperature slightly and add the tomatoes. Cook the tomatoes for about 10 minutes, turning them regularly and occasionally adding some olive oil, if needed, so that the bottom is always covered.
  4. add Pasta, Bouillon, 2 tablespoons Harissa and one and a half table spoon of salt and mix well. Add the kale, stir well again at medium heat for 2-3 minutes until the kale collapses.
  5. Heat the oven to 180 degrees circulating air, put the pan in the oven and simmer for approx 10 minutes until the pasta is done. Can easily be kept warm in the oven for some time at about 60 degrees.

Deutsch

  1. Zwiebeln fein hacken, Knoblauchzehen pressen, je nach Geschmack die Stängel des Federkohls entfernen, anschliessend die Blätter in feine Streifen schneiden. Tomaten waschen.
  2. 2 EL Olivenöl in einem Bräter erhitzen, die Zwiebeln andünsten, Knoblauch zugeben und kurz mitdünsten
  3. Temperatur etwas reduzieren und die Tomaten zugeben. Die Tomaten während circa 10 Minuten unter regelmässigem Wenden garen. Nach Bedarf wiederholt etwas Olivenöl zugeben, so dass der Boden stets gut bedeckt ist.
  4. Orzo, Bouillon, 1 1/2 TL Salz sowie 2 TL Harissa zugeben und gut verrühren. Den Federkohl zugeben. Alles bei guter Hitze gut verrühren und 2-3 Minuten köcheln bis der Federkohl zusammenfällt.
  5. Ofen auf 180 Grad Umluft aufheizen und den Bräter in Ofen stellen und während circa 10 Minuten köcheln bis der Orzo gar ist. Kann problemlos längere Zeit im Ofen bei ca. 60 Grad warmgehalten werden.
