One of my other passions apart from cooking is collecting rock music from the early 60s until today.

The guests at our Sunday kitchen enjoy as background sounds the “good for everyone but nevertheless quality music” playlist which can be found on spotify here

At the end of any year I put together a playlist of the records that I purchased and which had been released in the respective year. The Top Releases 2018 can be found here and include two songs of each record presented below. Historians find the Top Releases 2017 here

BAP is a band from Cologne / Germany which sings since more than 40 years in their local dialect

Danny Bryant is UK blues rock guitarrist which we saw playing in the Jazzhaus Freiburg which is the publishing house for his records

Desert Mountain Tribe is German/UK trio that creates atmospheric music and which we saw playing two years agon in Basel and this year in Rough Trade Records London on the record release party
As per European Copyright Laws any recording that isnt published in 50 years becomes public domain. Due to this Bob Dylan has released some of its early concert performances in the past years in limited numbers.
Dylan was unhappy with the outcome of the “Blood on tracks” recordings of which already some early pressings have been distributed to the journalists and re-recorded them partly without his producer but with a band. This record contains the initial versions.
Franska Trion are Swedish Jazz-Rock Trio that I discovered via the recommandations on spotify
Billy Gibbons is an US Blues-Rock Guitarrist and well known as member of ZZ Top
Greta van Fleet are a band of US teenagers that sometimes sound like a resurrection of Led Zeppelin
Paul Kelly is an Australian rock music singer and should not to be mixed up with Paul Kelly of the “Kelly Family” 😉
The Scottish singer songwriter Amy MacDonald has published a “best of” compilation – uplifting music for the dark season of the year
The UK stadium rock band has published their 8th record – one either like or detests them 😉
We saw the former lead singer of Stiltskin and Genesis live in Bern. Personally I like his own sings even better than the “classics”
